Freebird (1st or 2nd time buyer) Slightly larger than the Thunderstruck, but this time we upgraded to a complete 6mm carbon fiber frame. The Freebird is rated for all skill levels because it can handle the learning process of the beginner, but it is really intended for your next sport kite with much higher performance capabilities than the previous two. Carbon tends to break easier than fiberglass but it is stiffer and lighter. Once you have the basics, you should be flying a carbon framed sport kite. The Freebird is also and excellent introduction kite to "slack line trick flying" more on that later. Blinding fast and tight spins with noise makes this kite fun for any level. Because of the stiff frame on a smaller kite, the durability and higher wind capabilities is really amazing! The key to this kite is that it has a slower forward speed than most kites this size which makes it a good higher wind kite. It's frame is light, so it also flies in lighter winds. |
